This Peugeot Hoggar is the only example known to be on the road outside of it’s home market, South America, with only one other in Europe held in the Peugeot Museum collection in France. Based on the euro Peugeot 206+ the Hoggar was developed in Porto Real, Brazil where this one was also built. I imported this particular vehicle two years ago from São Paulo where it had spent it’s life from new. Mechanically it is much the same as any Peugeot Citroën of the era, with the same 1.6, 16v DOHC engine which in the UK runs normal E10 unleaded petrol, however – coming from Brazil it is fully equipped to run E100 pure ethanol made from plant materials and if ethically produced E100 can be carbon neutral! Fun fact, the Hoggar was also a Popemobile for the Cuba visit in 2015. With it’s generous sized load bed, nippy performance, simple mechanicals it’s a fun, functional and good looking truck.
