I bought the car in 2011 and have covered approximately 40,000 miles since.
Built on 5th May 1969 for the American market.
Originally finished in Regency Red with Beige interior.
Exported to British Leyland New York on 7th November 1969.
Brought back to the UK on 20th September 1996.
Stripped and rebuilt to British specification in 1997/8, converted to right hand drive, fitted with wire wheels, resprayed Brooklands Green and trimmed with suede green leather interior.
The engine is the world renowned Jaguar XK straight six double overhead camshaft unit, with a capacity of 4.2 litres, and fitted with three 2inch SU carburettors. Power output was in the region of 250 bhp.
The Series 2 car was produced to comply with USA safety regulations. The main changes from the Series 1 were to the headlight covers, internal switchgear, bumpers and lights.
Engine was rebuilt in 2012 by Classic Car Engines following the failure of a cylinder head stud: a common occurrence on 4.2 litre engines.
Five speed gearbox manufactured by E Type Fabrications was fitted in 2012.
