BSA , Ariel 3

BSA motorcycles last gasp. We had the BSA Rocket 3, the Triumph Trident , both 750cc 3 cylinder machines. There were wild rumours about the latest
” Super bike ” the Ariel 3. But , when this ” thing ” appeared with the advertising slogan which read. ” Here it is, whatever it is ! ” people were stunned !
Anyway, this particular moped was dragged kicking and screaming from a shed 15 or so years ago and has since been in my shed. I managed to source all the missing parts as new old stock back then, but the restoration has still not started.
I was working at R.U.Holoway & Son, Bathwick, Bath and we used to sell these new. Apparently, many people who bought them couldn’t get on with them and many were soon put away never to the light of day again.
