A great example of an early 1970’s Japanese sports/road bike. Rather rare to find these days.
There was a whole series of H1 models released, starting I believe with the ‘A’ suffix, (or possibly just H1?) running all the way through to ‘F’. It then became the tuned-down, and therefore less lively KH500, before discontinuation. This example is an H1B, only made for the year 1972, I believe.
Well known at the time for it’s fearsome reputation – depends how you ride it!
In it’s original Pearl Candy Orange livery (possibly re-painted at some point, before my ownership), with age-related patina, commensurate with the use it has endured, during it’s lifetime.
I believe that it was originally a US model, imported to the UK some years ago. I think I might be only the second owner, after the importer, in this country. I purchased it in 2024.
I had a professional restorer carry out a huge amount of work in 2025, whilst leaving the cosmetic appearance exactly as it was when I took ownership of it. I have extensive paperwork and photos that attest to this being done.
I am now enjoying the ride, and getting out on it as much as I can – need to get my money’s worth!!!
(Anything above that would relate to facts about this model, and the rest of the H1’s, etc, – NOT this actual bike – could be checked out with the Kawasaki Triples Club, Kawa Triples Resources, or various other specialist organisations who actually know about these bikes!)
