1976 Triumph Stag Mark II. Car was originally registered in Bristol and first sold to the Lex Mead dealership there in 1977. I have owned it for the past 18 years. It was purchased privately from its last owner in Aylesbury in 2008 and has since had an extensive engine rebuild (by Stag specialists Enginuity in London). Bodywork repairs by Robsport in Hertfordshire and a full leather retrim approximately 5 years ago by Hukes Trimmers. It sports the original Triumph V8 unit, mated to a manual overdrive, allowing it to fully keep pace with modern traffic.
The car is regularly taken on long trips – in 2023 we travelled the five countries of the British Isles (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland), as well as the Isle of Man (covering over 2,000 miles), and in 2024 we did the NC500 (North Coast 500) route – a round trip of around 1,500 miles. This year we will be travelling to the Normandy landing beaches, driving from Hertfordshire to Kent, taking the Euro shuttle to Calais, traveling along the north coast of France via Bayeux and Mont Saint Michel and returning via Guernsey through Poole.
