My 1961 Mercedes Benz 190 (Ponton) was bought over from California by the current owner, hence the LHD and sun-caused patina.
I call her Brunhilda, one of the Valkyre (ie from Wagner’s opera), because she is the most beautiful woman in the world.
She came to the UK in 2018, since when I have been slowly restoring her – mechanical and structural – so it just needs the interior and body renovating now.
I don’t really want to finish doing her up as she now drives so well (I use her at least 3-4 times every week) and is the ultimate cool machine attracting attention and admiration wherever I go . But I’m retiring soon and life on a pension means we’ll have to put up with just one car – my wife’s! Hence she is for sale.
I’ve installed many new parts plus completed a structural refurbishment.
She has some memorabilia and records from California and a complete log of what I have done to her since purchase.
I paid a low price for her in 2018, and have spent 3 times that on her since then. Doing up the exterior and interior will obviously cost more, but a buyer may choose to keep her as she is – I did, because I and most people think she is more beautiful like this than when fully restored! The coolest car on the street!
