Rover SD1 3500 V8

Ex Metropolitan Police “Special Escort Group”, (SEG) which is part of Royalty & Specialist Protection.
This is the only known surviving SD1 issued to “SEG”.
This car has a significant history, having Escorted all prominant members of the UK Royal Family from 1986 to 1990, including many visiting foreign dignitaries, to include President Ronald Regan.
This car also escorted category A prisonors (IRA) and others. On completuon of these duties, it was sent to the Met driving school at Hendon for 2 years, where it was used for skid pan training.
It was then recommissioned and sold to a London TV production company.
In 1999 it was discovered stored in a nursery with other cars used for TV productions, before being bought and restored by a previous owner.
