Volkswagen Golf Clipper Cabriolet

This is a late model Golf Cabriolet, produced after production of the MK1 Golf hatchback had ended. It was converted to a Cabriolet by Karmen in Osnabruck, Germany. The MK1 Cabriolet production ran on until 1993, after the MK2 had been launched. The MK2 Cabriolet didn’t make it into production.
This car has had its 3 speed automatic gearbox replaced with a 5 speed manual. The Pierberg carburetor has been replaced with a Weber unit.
The old vinyl roof was replaced in June this year, replaced with a black mohair hood. The frame was replaced at this time due to extensive wear on the old one.
